At Three Crowns Cleaning, we understand the importance of reducing our environmental impact and doing our part for a more sustainable future. That’s why we’ve partnered with Positive Planet to measure, report, and reduce our carbon footprint across all areas of our business.

 

Our Carbon Footprint

For the reporting year ending 30 April 2024, our total carbon footprint was 91.8 tonnes of CO₂e. Here's the breakdown by emissions category:

  • Scope 1 (Direct emissions): 2.7 tCO₂e (e.g., company vehicles, fuel)

  • Scope 2 (Indirect energy emissions): 0.9 tCO₂e (e.g., electricity)

  • Scope 3 (Supply chain & commuting): 88.2 tCO₂e

 

Where Our Emissions Come From

The majority of our emissions (96%) are from Scope 3 sources, primarily:

  • Cleaning supplies procurement – 66.4 tCO₂e

  • Employee commuting and home working – 16.3 tCO₂e

  • Energy-related activities – 4.9 tCO₂e

We’ve worked with Positive Planet using UK Government-approved methods to ensure accurate, regulated reporting.

 

Our Carbon Reduction Plan

This is our first year reporting, and we’re using it as our baseline. We are committed to reducing our emissions year-over-year, with a goal of reaching Net Zero by 2030.

Our reduction strategies include:

  • Transitioning to low-emission vehicles

  • Increasing use of renewable energy in our offices

  • Reducing emissions across our supply chain

  • Encouraging sustainable commuting for employees

Understanding 91.8 tCO₂e can be tricky — here’s what that really means:

Equivalent to 50 diesel cars driven 20 miles daily for a year

Once we reach Net Zero, this will be like permanently removing 50 diesel cars from UK roads every year.
